1. Adele – Someone Like You
Ceritanya tentang seorang wanita yang mantannya sudah move on dalam hidup dan menikah dengan wanita lain. Jadi wanita ini bilang kalau dia ingin mencari pasangan hidup seperti mantannya ini. Pas mendengar lagu ini, kesan broken-hearted terasa sekali.

2. Maroon5 ft. Christina Aguilera – Moves Like Jagger
Jagger itu refer ke nama penyanyi rock, Mick Jagger. Penyanyi lagu ini ceritanya pengen jadi seperti Mick Jagger, penyanyi rock yang terkenal jaman dulu itu. Beberapa cuplikan dari liriknya:

Liriknya cerita tentang seorang wanita yang mencari seorang pria. Jaman sudah terbalik ya sampai sekarang wanita yang mencari pasangan hidup, bukan sebaliknya. Cuplikan liriknya:

Di posisi nomer 6 dan seterusnya, masih ada Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, dan penyanyi-penyanyi lain yang saya ngga pernah dengar namanya. Tapi dengan lagu yang bertema kekerasan, seks, abusive relationship, pesta pora, kebayang reaksi macam apa yang didapat dari orang yang mendengarnya?

Wew. Ngga aneh kalau kesehatan mental orang jaman sekarang lumayan mengkhawatirkan. Mungkin begitu ada trigger untuk berbuat anarkis aja, bisa langsung keluar sisi kekerasannya. Sama seperti kerusuhan di Vancouver dan Inggris beberapa waktu lalu. Anak belasan tahun pun ikut-ikutan menjarah. Moralnya bobrok.

Lagu apa yang kita dengar mempengaruhi bagaimana kita menyikapi hidup. Btw, lagu rohani jaman sekarang yang kontemporer, kesannya juga banyak yang “hauling”, kaya bersifat seperti raungan hidup, lamenting, beda dengan lagu-lagu rohani jaman dulu yang seperti lagunya Don Moen. Atau lagu-lagu hymn.

Yang kita ngga punya sekarang adalah sesuatu yang tidak kita butuhkan. Masa iya sih bener demikian? Dsini ada dua hal yang dibahas: kebutuhan vs. keinginan. Dua hal ini berbeda, untuk lebih jelasnya, coba deh baca buku Charles Stanley yang judulnya “Our Unment Needs”. Bagus banget. Intinya kan apa yang kita inginkan itu kan belum tentu kita butuhkan. Saya ingin punya uang 1 juta rupiah misalnya, tapi uang itu belum tentu saya butuhkan.

Bicara tentang keinginan, kadang agak-agak sulit karena setiap keinginan yang beda. Keinginan seorang jomblo jelas beda dengan keinginan orang yang sudah menikah. Yang jomblo menginginkan dapat jodoh. Yang sudah menikah mungkin menginginkan kehadiran seorang anak. Keinginan juga berganti-ganti dari waktu ke waktu.

Nah, bagaimana kalau kata “keinginan” disini kita ganti dengan kata “harapan”. Kalimatnya begini jadinya: Yang jomblo mengharapkan dapat jodoh. Yang menikah mengharapkan kehadiran seorang anak. Kalimatnya mendadak berubah menjadi lebih soft. Emang gampang mengatakan apa yang kita harapkan belum tentu kita butuhkan. Tetapi sulit kita mengatakan mempunyai sebuah harapan adalah sesuatu yang salah.

Ketika keinginan kita gak terwujud, kita mungkin masi bisa bilang “Yah Tuhan, gak apa-apa, mungkin apa yang aku inginkan ini emang tidak aku butuhkan”. Tapi kalau kita pakai kata “harapan”, mungkin kita bisa berdoa, “Tuhan, masa aku punya harapan ini salah sih sampai Tuhan gak mau beri”. Lebih lagi kalau pake kata “sudah”. “Saya sudah melakukan A, B, C, tapi harapan saya gak pernah terwujud”.

Kadang harapan itu cuma versi halus dari keinginan. Bagaimana kita menanggapi harapan/keinginan yang tidak terwujud? C.S. Lewis pernah bilang seperti ini:

If you think of this world as a place intended simply for our happiness, you find it quite intolerable: think of it as a place for correction and it’s not so bad.

When all the audience stood and gave applause to Rodrigo, he pointed his finger to the roof trying to say that it is God, not him who deserves the glory. Such a humble and nice musician. Overall the concert was well performed, superb! My fave song in the concert was the old hymn “It is well with my soul”.
